Twelve albums, each with its own number, title and personality were packaged in a one-inch box with a 16-page guide booklet (except 25, the “Silver Edition”).

The initial pressing was 1000 copies, but 565 were confiscated in Mud Shark´s bust. The limited, numbered Silver Edition had each LP packaged individually in its own silver jacket.

  • Side #2, track 2 is excerpted from the movie The World´s Greatest Sinner, which Zappa scored in 1961. A reader commented that “it sounds like someone took the audio track of the film and attempted to edit it down to just the music. Some of the edits are not very smooth, however.” It is not the same World´s Greatest Sinner excerption that is on Serious Music and Apocrypha.

These are all singles tracks made way before Zappa hit it big time. Some he has written, some he has co-written, some he has produced, he plays on some of them and so on, some are even B-sides of tracks he was involved in. 

 

The coupling “Drums a-Go-Go”/ “Hot Water” and all bonus tracks except “Cradle Rock”, where he may be playing, were made without any Zappa involvement.
